This lesson Mr. Ward went through briefly what we would be doing in this unit. We would be
a) designing a sustaniable and themed hotel
b) doing paperwork of some sort
We were shown some examples of previous hotels which had some of my ideas, so to look origional I will adapt them. Mr. Ward went through some types of ways to sustaniably create usable eletric energy. Some examples were
Wind energy: Where wind power is used to power the generator
Hydro energy: used by the pressure of water either in dams, waterfalls or flowing rivers
Solar energy: Used to produce heat NOT electricity
and other examples
he also went though ways in which we can do it and materials that he will provide and then ones we will need to provide for ourselfs
It will be a partner work and I am working with Ruby. My friend but I have not worked with her yet and she seems really motivated about it all and knows a fair bit more about materials than I do so we will make a good team.
We are currently thinking about a "water/aquatic" themed hotel which is circular in shape with a gap for the entrance. There will be a water fall in the center protected by stong, soundproofing glass. The water from the water fall will break out into certain area's of the building. Also at the bottom of the waterfall in the loby area there will be a mini breakoff where flowing water will be disposed where people can drink.
3/4 of the building will be residential (4 stories) and 1/4 of the building will be for lesure. There will be a resturant on the first floor and a movie theater. Above that, an aquarium. Above that will be a pool area with a glass bottom so you can see the aquarium from the pool. The pool will also have a water massaging place too (explained later) The top will be a kids lounge area with different age areas as well as activites they can do there.
Still to decide what the outside will be but thoughts are a giser area
