Term 2: Blog __

Today I was late because of Carrers Interviews;

We took out our resort-in-progress from downstairs, the lake had set but it had also leaked but it gave it a really cool effect and looked as if it was falling away to somewhere else. We stuck the waterfall together and decided it looked good just with paint but I feel that it could use something more. We also painted the basin that the water was going to fall into and we painted the ground. I think we need to look at the scale issues and maybe largen the driveway because everything must be massive to fit with other elements.
We need to start looking at the 3rd question, which I don't fully get so I will ask next time

Blog 7

Today we began with Mr Ward showing how to use plaster of paris. We will probably not be using it but for future reference this is how to use it
  1. Put chicken wire in the are you want the hill to go and staple one end and cut strips at the other
  2. Put news paper under it, building volume for the size and shaping of you hill
  3. Staple the other ends of it and mold slightly
  4. Put plaster of paris powder in a bucket and put more than you think you will use
  5. Mix it with water and mold till smooth and a pasty paste texture
  6. wearing gloves, put the plaster onto your mold and get the shape
  7. Change gloves and smooth and mold details
  8. Get a damp cloth and smooth lastly
  9. Leave to dry
  10. Dump remaining plaster in the bin then wash up
Ruby and  i then experimented with how to do the waterfall and then decided in hot glue because it gave the best effect. I will bring in next term some tubes to do it around. Ruby then routered our lake and I had the idea to have it being a trout or salmon lake so people could fish and have them smoked...
We ran out of time to stick the sides to the lake so we could fill it but we cut the sides so they were ready to go.

Blog 6: Update

Today (well yesterday) Mr. ward show how to use the modeling clay and then we got to work. Ruby and I analyzed the materials that we think would be good to use for each element of the building. We then drew our bird eye view of out building onto our board and labeled them according to my book (still need to upload). we found a good material for the tennis courts and will need some acrylic paint for next lesson. Next lesson we will experiment on how to use the waterfall and will need some acrylic paint that wasn't available last lesson. Hopefully we will be able to use the router - it was too busy this lesson.
