Blog update
Today in design I finished my Kart. It looks good but it is very slow. Looking closer at the design, it seems that the tubes around te wire that is holding the wheels of together is very tight and this would be creating friction. I think my second design will be from the wood because the foam is proving to be very breakable

Blog Update
Today Mr. Ward made a rushed kart to show us how everything is to fit together. When making it the things to remember are
- Make sure the wheels are parallel (measuring will help this)
- the wire will go 9mm into the wheel and a 2mm gap should be in-between the wheel and the plastic tube
- The cogs are push fit (meaning you need a hammer, or similar, to get them on)
- Make sure the teeth line up with each other and that the wires are up the right way (so it does not go backwards)
I then went into the workshop and began doing another base - this time proper. I measured them out properly and cut it into a rectangle. Using the sandpaper - I made the front very thin and slowly building up and there are no sharp edges on the front of the kart. (i noticed when looking at other, actual drag cars that they have rounded edges - for reducing air friction).
That was all that I got done today,

Blog update
Today I went into the design room and went to trying to create a design using the materials avaliable. I came up with the idea to use foam as the platform or base if my kart. It is light but sticks together well I have also thought of placing some of the compartment inside the foam but then Laura came up with the same idea so undecided to try something else. Instead of Putting the elements inside it, I'll suppress it in slightly to connect it and make it more attached to the foam and reduce air friction slightly. I also think I will put a bit if a 'windshield' at the front to direct the air so it does not get caught too much an create air resistance. I also am going to sand paper the front down alot so it slowly builds up like in the actual drag cars.
